The West Somerset Strategic Partnership (WSSP) officially launched its new Sustainable Community Strategy at a meeting in Porlock Village Hall on Friday 2nd March 2007.
Partnership Chairman, Loretta Whetlor, said, “This plan is the result of months of consultation with local people, businesses, charitable groups and other organisations with an interest in the social, economic and environmental well-being of West Somerset.
“It identifies issues of local importance and its accompanying action plan sets targets to improve social and business opportunities in West Somerset. It is an important document as it will shape the place we live in and the way in which we live.”
WSSP Manager, Simon Hankinson, said, “The Community Strategy is a vital link between the community and its aspirations and the agencies that can facilitate or deliver changes and improvements within the district.
“Now that the strategy’s approved we are looking forward to working for, and with, local people and organisations to achieve healthy, strong and safe communities in West Somerset.”
